The Whirlwind of Emotions of Caring for a Dying Parent

This Shit is Exhausing on My Mental Health
25
Things can sure be difficult when caring for a loved one toward the end. I’m doing my best, but it’s a lot.

What a past 24 hours it’s been, Y’all.

And it’s not like some big, huge drama. It’s a lot of small, little things that add up. When you don’t have unlimited free time, and it’s quite the opposite of that, it doesn’t take much to throw you off your game. Believe me, I’m learning this in less than two weeks.

I’m all about routine, in terms of family life and career. When something throws that off, it’s rough on my mental health.

But I’m trying. I'm working hard to balance things, adjust, and be a good son, husband, and writer. The ups and downs of this Substack grind have become more pronounced and noticeable. But I’m not going to let it stop me. In today’s podcast episode, I talk about these challenges.

Thank you for listening to this one. I appreciate you lending me your ears. Your support and encouragement are so helpful. Hearing the stories you leave in the comments about your own experiences in dealing with similar things brings solidarity and comfort.

Thank you all for being the badasses you are. I value and appreciate you all.

If you enjoy my daily podcast, I’d love to have your support. It’s less than $5 to support independent journalism, and I’d be honored to have you join our Mouthy Militia. Thank you!
